Klara took on Yoga as a practice in 2012 in Cork, Ireland and practiced with great dedication at Himalaya Yoga valley for two years. In 2014 she went to their centre in Goa, India to complete her first Teacher training. She’s been teaching ever since, starting in India, then at retreat centres in Cambodia and in 2015 life brought her to Nepal where she taught yoga at a primary and secondary school. It was there when she saw very clearly the vast benefits of Yoga on so many levels, in so many people. It was also there when she committed herself to teaching Yoga more as a medicine rather than physical sequence; to offer the plethora of tools that we have available in Yogic studies so people can learn them and use them in daily living.
Klara moved to Iceland in 2016 and that’s also when she joined the teaching team at Yoga Shala. She stuck to her commitment and apart from teaching regular classes she created workshops and courses addressing the topic of Yoga as medicine, emotional anatomy and course about Chakras. Chakras, energy and subtle body has also been her interest and passion since early childhood and she started professionally training in this field in 2007, including Reflexology, Structural awareness technique, emotional anatomy and the most recent ongoing studies are in Tantra, sexuality and neuroscience.
Thanks to her studies and thanks to witnessing the effect of these practices on so many people, she has a huge respect for bodies and the connection they have to the mind. The drive for teaching Yoga is hence to offer people a safe space where every individual can experience the healing power of Yoga, at their own pace, without judgment and criticism.
Huge part of Tantric philosophy is the acceptance of all parts of us and she hopes that through words of guidance during classes people can come closer to their true nature… because that’s what Yoga ultimately does to us … gaining physical strength and flexibility are the beneficial side effects of Yoga ;)
She has been part of teaching team at Teacher trainings both in India in the past and here at Yoga Shala in the past and present.
